Art

American art - literature, music, visual arts - is rooted in the depths of folk art. Many of the original elements of American folklore were brought from the Old World, others arose in the New World, but even the combination of old elements, their development and modification, gave a specifically American product.
Great writers made a huge contribution to art: James Hadley Chase, Agatha Christie, Jack London, musicians: Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Sting, Queen, Elton John, Elvis Presley, composers: George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein.
One of the most significant figures in American literature of the 19th century is Mark Twain, an outstanding satirist, a master of realistic prose (The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn).
The personification of rock and roll is still Elvis Presley, who was named the “King of Rock and Roll” back in 1956 and had a huge musical and stylistic influence on the younger generation not only in America, but all over the world.
